Ferne McCann says she's looking for The One after two tough years as a single parent

EXCLUSIVE: The First Time Mum star opened up about life with daughter Sunday as she teamed up with restaurant Chiquito to launch their new range of edible insects

Ferne McCann says she's ready to find The One and settle down after two tough years as a single parent.

The former TOWIE star is a proud and doting mum to her daughter Sunday, who has just turned two, but she admits it isn't always easy.

The 29-year-old is looking to the future, and says she hopes to meet the right man, get married and have more children.

Ferne opened up about her life as a single mum as she teamed up with Mexican restaurant Chiquito to launch their new range of edible insects.

During an exclusive chat with Mirror Online, she said: "Being a single parent, there can be tough times. Lots of people ask what the toughest thing is about being a single parent but I think the clue's in the title, it's being on your own.

"When your babies go to sleep it can be lonely and sometimes you need that extra set of hands but I feel lucky because I've got such a fantastic support network around me and I love that saying 'it takes a small village to raise a child' because that's exactly what it's like with Sunday.

"It can be tough but it's worth it. She's very rewarding."

Ferne shares Sunday with her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins, who is serving a jail sentence for his involvement in an acid attack in a nightclub.

Now that she's ready to find love again, she says she has to consider whether or not they'll be good for Sunday as they will for her.

She said: "I want to meet someone for me initially, of course I have to have Sunday in mind and we come as a package at the end of the day - a lovely package. But I feel like I'm not going to go out of my way to look for someone for her. I want to meet someone for me and if it's the right person, it's the right person, but I'm wary.

Bottoms up!

She says it brings back memories of I'm A Celeb

"When I said I'm talking to five guys on my show that's because I'm sussing out who I want to be with and who I want to get with because I just want to fall in love now, I'm ready, I just want to get married."

She added: "I think because of Sunday and she makes me so content I'm on no rush whatsoever. I don't want to sound like I'm boasting but I feel so happy right now, I've got an amazing group of friends around me, an amazing family, an amazing daughter, and I'm very happy so for me to meet someone it would be the cherry on top, it would be a nice addition but it's not the be all and end all."

Ferne has met someone, but it's early days and she doesn't want to reveal his identity, although she says he's not in the public eye.

She joked: "It's early days, I fancy someone but we'll see. I don't want to scare him off, but basically I want a diamond cut yellow canary diamond.

"He's really nice, I've known him for years, let's see."

Ferne, who took part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015, said Chiquito's new Chilli & Lime and Peri-Peri crickets brought back memories of her time in the jungle - and the infamous spider-eating challenge.

She said: "I am so excited. It's actually bringing back some memories. my friends take the mick out of me because I always say, 'I'm not sure if you knew but I actually did I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', and they're like, 'We know, Ferne! How many times do you want to mention it?'

She wants to get married and have more children

"But I'm proud, it was a big deal. I felt like the luckiest girl alive because it was a TV show I'd been watching with my family throughout my whole childhood then there I was, sat in a hammock, Ant and Dec walking into the camp, next to Lady C, Chris Eubank and Vicky Pattison, thinking 'What the actual hell?'

"So as we all know I had the eating challenge,  the iconic and infamous spider challenge to say the least. But these crickets, when I first heard about them I thought 'Surely not', but actually they're really tasty.

"They come in two delicious flavours and they go perfect with a beer or a shot of tequila.

"It's bringing back memories and they're so tasty.

"And I'm the first person to have a Chiquito's Amigo Card so it means I can enjoy all the Mexican delights."
