Jamie Laing teases Kelvin Fletcher after Strictly Come Dancing success

The Made In Chelsea star couldn't make the dancefloor - the first time in the show’s 17 year history that a celebrity has been forced to pull out before the live shows even started

Jamie Laing joked Kelvin Fletcher owes it all to his foot following his Strictly Come Dancing success.

The wildcard replaced The Made In Chelsea star after injury forced him to withdraw on the eve of the show.

The replacement had his special moment as he and dancer Oti Mabuse lifted the Glitterball on Saturday night.

Kelvin joined Strictly last minute - and cheeky Jamie wasn't about to let him forget it.

He tweeted: "Congratulations to @kelvin_fletcher and @OtiMabuse you guys rocked it!! Thank god for my broken foot #Strictlyfinal."

Jamie had to pull out after picking up the injury in rehearsals.

A fall in rehearsals meant Jamie couldn't continue..

He said at the time: “I’m absolutely devastated that I’m unable to continue in the competition, I was so excited to hit the dance floor!

"I would like to wish the lovely couples all the very best and hope they enjoy their time on the show to the fullest.

“It’s really upsetting and devastating to be honest.

"But I will be supporting every single one of my buddies dancing this year. They’re a great bunch of people. I wish I could be dancing, but they will rock the dancefloor! Good luck everyone.”

...and that meant Kelvin got the call from producers!

Kelvin and Oti won Strictly 2019 after an epic live final which saw them beat fellow finalists Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke and Amy Dowden and Karim Zeroual .

Shocked Kelvin said: "I'm speechless, I did not expect that, it's just been such a privilege to be here.

"I want to thank her for the most amazing experience of my life. I feel so proud to be a part of this, from the bottom of my heart thank you."

The Made In Chelsea star was delighted for his replacement on Saturday night

Oti burst into tears over the news, praising Kelvin for his hard work.

She said: "I have done this show for five years and I have never ever met any celebrity who gives his heart, his soul...

"If something was not working we stayed in training and rehearse, and not because we wanted to win but because he genuinely loved dancing."
