Love Island star Ollie Williams insisted he was an “animal-lover” just days before he went into the villa.

The star, 23, who posed with dead animals on safari, boasted about his passion for conservation.

He didn’t mention the beautiful animals he had killed or his “conservation” business in which tourists had “an unforgettable sporting experience”.

Instead, the heir to the Lanhydrock estate in Cornwall said: “I am an animal-lover. I’m massively into my conservation.

At our home we’ve won massive wildlife awards for planting 40,000 trees and creating biodiverse wildlife areas. It’s quite a big passion of both my dad’s and mine to re-wild areas.”

It comes as pressure mounts on ITV to dump him from the villa, which 2.5 million people tuned in to watch on Sunday night.

By this evening, there had been 231 complaints to Ofcom about Ollie, and more than 22,500 people had signed a petition calling for his removal.

It’s not all bad news, though. Disney fan Siannise Fudge said he looks like John Smith in Pocahontas.

A source close to Ollie said it was “untrue” he was involved in hunting for sport, and that he was “culling sick animals”.

They added: “At no point has Ollie organised or booked anybody to go to Africa to shoot game.”
