Widowed TV star Duane Chapman has caused a rift in his family after he started dating Moon Angell who used to date one of his 10 sons.

Beth Chapman left her television sensation husband, 66, in pieces when she lost her battle to cancer.

Just seven months after her death, Dog The Bounty Hunter initially surprised fans when he shared he was dating Beth's former assistant Moon.

Despite the backlash from his daughter Lyssa, many of his fans have now thrown their support behind the widower and his new romance.

Duane has liked a string of tweets supporting his new girlfriend as he continues to move on with his life after his wife's death.

One tweet read: " @DogBountyHunter Hello Dog. I really hope you see my tweet and write back. I miss your show so much and I support you finding another woman in your life. You gotta keep looking up to God and be yourself!"

Another read: " @DogBountyHunter Hey Dog. Hope you are good today. Lots of talk about you and Moon being in a serious relationship. I tell them to mind their own business and you can't believe everything you read. Beth is really hot in this picture. Love to you. Michelle from Oregon."

Dog went public with his new romance after his daughter Lyssa accused Moon of moving Beth's clothes out of the family home.

She initially wrote: "If someone who met your family by dating your brother, tried to date your father after your stepmom died what would you do?"

In retaliation, the dad voiced his vulnerability as he claimed he needed his new girlfriend to support him now his children had flown the nest.

He told RadarOnline : "Moon has been a trustworthy and loyal friend to me for over 20 years. She has been with my family through many ups and downs.

"All my children are grown and gone on their own, there's no one left to help me. Moon is experienced. It's just that. Who knows what my future holds, but right now I need her.

"There will never be another Mrs Dog but that doesn't mean I have to be so sad."
