Jon Bon Jovi praised by Royal Navy in 'poignant moment' at last year's Invictus Games

EXCLUSIVE: Susan Warner, 61, has been in the choir for two years and first met Harry after the Invictus Games in Orlando in 2016

A Royal Navy nurse badly injured in Afghanistan has spoken of her joy at singing with Jon Bon Jovi in Prince Harry ’s Invictus Games Choir.

Susan Warner, 61, has been in the choir for two years and first met Harry after the Invictus Games in Orlando in 2016.

She competed in swimming events after suffering multiple fractures while serving in Afghanistan in 2009.

She then caught up with Prince Harry again at London’s Abbey Road studios in February – where she walked the famous zebra crossing with both Jon and Harry.

Susan sang with rocker Jon as they re-recorded a special version of Bon Jovi single Unbroken with the full choir.

“We hope the single will touch many hearts and be a light during this troubling time for so many people around the world."

She added: "It just feels like it is so important.”

Harry tells Bon Jovi in the video for the song: “With military people, there’s a way of being able to talk about the scars of war in a positive way... they are stronger for it.”

Unbroken is available to buy and stream now.

All proceeds will go to the Invictus Games Foundation, of which Harry is Patron, in support of the recovery of ill and wounded military personnel.
