Emmerdale's Isabel Hodgins' dye warning after blonde 'Big Bird' transformation

Isabel Hodgins has issued a warning about hair dye after she had a dramatic fail, turning her cropped dark hair into a shock of blonde.

The 26-year-old actress, who is known for playing Victoria Sugden in Emmerdale, shared the dramatic pic of what happened when she looked to change up her look at Christmas.

She posted the photo on Instagram on Thursday to bring some cheer to the soap's fans during the coronavirus lockdown.

Filming on the ITV soap has stopped until the deadly virus has cleared the UK, so Isabel showed what happened when hair dyeing takes a wrong turn.

Isabel Hodgins described herself as 'Big Bird' after the transformation

Captioning the photo, she wrote: "If anyone wants to go from brown to blonde, just know there will be a time, before the toner, where you look like Big Bird.

"This was over Christmas- yes hair dressers are closed. it’s such a ridiculous photo I thought it would make people smile."

Despite it not turning out quite how she planned to start with, Isabel was flooded with positive messages as fans praised her.

One fan replied to her post by declaring: "You are so beautiful."

Another related to the blonde moment, writing: "I’ve been there hun. I was a bit Donald Trump for a while."

If anyone was looking to try the same at the moment will need to take note that all hairdressers, along with other non-essential services, have been closed by the government in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The lockdown has also left soap bosses sweating as they start to worry that they have enough episodes in the bank to satisfy fans during these unprecedented times.

Emmerdale's Isabel Hodgins as Victoria Sugden

Whereas Thursday was a big soap night with Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks all airing, it has now become bereft of soapland as producers pull episodes in a bid to see them through to the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite the lack of filming, the writing of episodes is continuing in the hope that they can hit the ground running once restrictions have been lifted.

Taking to Twitter, EastEnders show runner Jon Sen revealed: "Just to let you know that after the news last week that we are postponing filming, we are all still working hard behind the scenes planning stories for when we return."
