Holly Willoughby’s hair through the years: How the This Morning host’s locks have changed

Holly Willoughby’s perfect blonde lob might incite serious hair envy, but it’s not the only look the This Morning host has experimented with over the years.

Though it may come as a surprise that Holly colours her own hair at home, she recently shared a video of her doing her own roots in the current coronavirus lockdown.

Holly shared the video of her touching up her colour with her Garnier Nutrisse box dye, as she made sure her natural dark hair wasn’t starting to show through.

The presenter has always had a flawless mane throughout her career – and here are some of her most memorable looks.

1998 – Natural brown

Holly’s naturally a brunette (who knew?) and back in 1998 she still hadn’t hit the peroxide bottle – though there was already a hint of highlights through her ends. A sign of (blonder) things to come.

2004 – Time for a fringe

2004 was the year Holly decided to try out a fringe, and the blonde was already well in the works, with a sandy colour on top and darker shades underneath.

2005 – Goodbye fringe

The fringe was a short-lived addition, as by 2005 Holly had grown it out enough to push it to the side. The tones remained the same but the curls were sleeker and longer.

2008 – Bouncy blow drys

The darker undertones had started to disappear by 2008, with Holly rocking an all-over caramel hue instead. Her Dancing On Ice ‘do looked like a hard-wearing blow dry as she amped up the volume.

2012 – Long and sleek

Holly ditched the curls and started wearing her longer hair in a smoother, straighter style with a bit of movement in the ends in 2012.

2018 – The Lob

Holly went for the chop and her wavy Lob (long bob for the uninitiated) was the perfect choice. The short ‘do has since become her signature look.

2019 – The Lob goes lighter

Holly kept the ‘do but went a few shades lighter, with looser waves – and although the colour needs frequent maintenance to prevent roots, the tones suit Holly’s skin perfectly.

2020 – Keeping up the colour at home

Holly’s flawless blonde needs a touch up fairly frequently to prevent roots, but she’s learned how to do it at home – which is a pretty great skill to have during a lockdown!
