Lewis Capaldi raises £40k for charity in just one hour and we stan so hard

Lewis Capaldi managed to raise an incredible £40,000 in just one hour for charity, proving he’s the most generous person.

The Someone You Loved singer blessed fans with a TikTok livestream on Wednesday, in a bid to fundraise for the British Red Cross.

Joking about his attempt, the 23-year-old told fans: ‘Who needs to climb Kilimanjaro when I can sit on my sofa and raise money for charity.’

Well, he makes a good point…

Lewis isn’t the only famous face getting involved, with Gordon Ramsay and daughter Tilly, Saffron Barker and Tom Daley among those who are doing their part to help amid the pandemic.

The money raised will be matched by TikTok and is going to supporting the British Red Cross – helping to deliver food and medicine, ensuring refugees are safe, and supporting people as they return home from hospital.

The Before You Go singer has kept his love life firmly behind closed doors as much as possible, aside from his romance with Love Island’s Paige Turley, that is.

However, he blew all our minds when he confirmed he was actually in a relationship.

During an interview on Capital FM, he was questioned on whether he prefers being tied down or living the single life.

‘Well, I’m in a relationship, so if I said the other one, my girlfriend would kill me,’ he joked.

Which is fair enough…

‘I’ve never told anybody that I’m in a relationship, so there you go…,’ he added. ‘She’s got red hair, she’s got quite a posh voice.

‘And that’s that, that’s all you’re getting.’

While Lewis refused to give fans any more details on his new relationship, he explained they had spent the last few weeks apart thanks to lockdown.
