House Rules: Abbey Gelmi reveals how Joh Griggs reacted to her being host

Joh Griggs quit House Rules earlier this year because she was 'uncomfortable' with how far the contestants were being pushed.

And the show's new host, Abbey Gelmi, has revealed what Joh said to her after being announced as her replacement.

Speaking to WHO magazine on Thursday, Abbey said that Joh was a class act and wished her well.

'I was lucky enough to see her a few weeks ago and she wished me all the best,' Abbey told the publication.

She went on to praise Joh, who had been host of House Rules for seven years until her resignation in July.

'Joh's an absolute champion,' Abbey said.

Well wishers! 'I was lucky enough to see her a few weeks ago and she wished me all the best,' Abbey told the publication. Pictured: Joh Griggs on House Rules

'She's someone who has always been so kind and such a support to me.'

According to Woman' Day, Joh quit House Rules because she didn't feel comfortable with how far contestants were being pushed in a bid to 'pursue ratings'.

An anonymous source told the publication she was unhappy with the drama.

'She's someone who has always been so kind and such a support to me' Abbey said of Joh

'As the pursuit for ratings gets more intense, producers are pushing participants to the brink as they try to manufacture dramatic television,' the source claimed.

'Those production techniques just don't sit well with Joh's core values,' they added.

While confirming her resignation, Joh cryptically told her social media followers that working on reality TV had been an 'eye-opener'.

Cryptic: 'Reality TV production has been an eye opener, they are such enormous beasts with so many people involved,' Joh said of the production. Here: Logies, 2016

She wrote: 'After a great deal of consideration, I recently sat down with the network to ask to be allowed to step down as host of House Rules.

'They have very graciously agreed for me to do that, which I'm incredibly appreciative of.

'Reality TV production has been an eye opener, they are such enormous beasts with so many people involved.

'I've had a great time over the last seven years steering the ship.'
