Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reunite at Bad Boys For Life premiere in Berlin

It's been 16 years since Bad Boys II - but the wait is almost over, with Bad Boys For Life set for theatrical release on January 17, 2020.

And Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have been on the promotional trail for their new movie, popping up in Berlin in a typically exuberant fashion on Tuesday.

The pair, who first starred in the franchise 25 years ago in 1995, looked giddy as they attended the German premiere in the capital's Zoo Palast cinema.

Big night: Will Smith was in attendance at the Bad Boys For Life premiere in Berlin on Tuesday, putting on an animated display on the red carpet

The former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor dug deep into the flamboyant section of his wardrobe and pulled out a cool leather jacket teamed with a fuchsia knit.

The 51-year-old star coupled it with a pair of checked trousers and completed his look with a pair of black boots.

Pulling off a series of animated poses, he went finger to finger with his co star - who was wrapped up against the chilly Berlin winter in a long coat and scarf combo.

Funny: The 51-year-old star couldn't resist joking around with his friend and co-star Martin

In November, a brand new trailer for the action film dropped.

The latest preview for the action comedy opens with cop partners Mike [Will Smith] and Marcus [Martin Lawrence] racing around Miami in a Porsche.

'Even the Batmobile don't hold the road like this b***h,' says Mike, as he maneuvers through traffic at dangerous speeds.

The sequence ends with Mike narrowly avoiding hitting a tourist bus.

The trailer then shows the two cops drinking in a bar, as Marcus laments, 'Mike, we've got more time behind us than in front.'

'I'm gonna be running down criminals until I'm a hundred,' promises Mike.

'Not me, I'm retiring,' retorts Marcus.

'What happened to bad boys for life?' asks Mike in return.

Partners: We next see Mike being assigned new partners -a team called 'Ammo', whom Mike describes as 'a high school musical boy band with guns'

Oh no you didn't: There's immediate friction among the group, with one of the team members calling Mike 'grandpa'

'That's what I like to see, team work,' quips Mike's boss Captain Howard [played by Joe Pantoliano].

Gunplay: Things then take a dramatic turn, with Mike telling Marcus that 'somebody's trying to kill me!

For life: 'I cannot let you go on a suicide mission alone,' Marcus tells Mike

What follows is a series of snippets from action setpieces, including Mike engaging a motorcycle helmet-wearing assailant on a balcony and assaulting co-star DJ Khaled with a hammer, while Marcus shoots at a pursuing helicopter.
