Grant Denyer poses with a bizarre phallic-shaped device in his dressing room

He's never been afraid to put himself in embarrassing situations for the sake of a good joke.  

And on Saturday comedian Grant Denyer, 42, did just that when he took to Instagram with a photo of himself posing with a phallic-shaped silver device in his Channel 10 dressing room. 

Striking a shocked expression towards the camera, the father-of-two wrote in the caption: 'My make-up artist wanted me to use this today before the photo shoot.'

'It actually worked!' Grant Denyer, 42, took to Instagram with a photo of himself posing with a phallic-shaped silver device in his Channel 10 dressing room on Saturday 

Clarifying that the bizarre object was actually a skincare device, Grant added: 'Apparently it reduces inflammation on your face'. 

He jokingly went on: 'I said there's no way I'm putting those balls on my chin, it' not that kind of shoot.'

The Celebrity Name Game host completed his post by using the hashtags #Itactuallyworked and #WTF, suggesting that he'd eventually agreed to use the strange tool.

It comes as the former Sunrise weatherman gears up to return as co-host for Channel 10's second season of Dancing With The Stars alongside Amanda Keller. 

The pint-sized presenter could also making his way back on 2Day FM this year.

Grant previously hosted 2Day FM's breakfast show with Ed Kavalee and Ash London, but it was axed in August last year after 18 months of dismal ratings.

Back on the airwaves? The pint-sized presenter could be making his way back to the airwaves after his 2DayFM Sydney breakfast show was cancelled back in August

It marked the network's sixth failed attempt at a successful breakfast show following Kyle and Jackie O's defection to KIIS FM in 2014 

However, according to Radio Today, Grant's recent Summer Breakfast show on SCA was actually  an 'audition' for his old job and potentially a springboard for Grant back onto radio. 

Previous hosts of the 2Day FM breakfast show include Rove McManus and Sam Frost in 2016, and Em Rusciano and Harley Breen in 2017.
